DOME CONSTRUCTION

Aggieland Fitness Dome was completed in January 2004 and is the world's first monolithic dome fitness center. It is an all concrete structure making it extremely energy efficient. The ground floor is 12,000 sq. ft. and the cardio mezzanine level is 2400 sq. ft. The free standing monolithic domes has a diameter of 124 feet and a height of 40 feet. The general contractor was Panattoni Construction (www.panconinc.com) and the architect was Robert Payne (www.rlpayne.com). Dome Technology of Idaho Falls, Idaho constructed the dome shell (www.dometech.com or www.monolithicdome.com).
